Nobody ever called him Blinko other than PR. He was known to all as "Birdie Burch" or Ernie. Little 84 yr. old "Joe Short" called him "Oinie". "New Joisey" accent.I remember it well. He called me "tanglefoot". Johnny Herriott.
ERNIE,said many years prior to passing on to the Big Lot he would write his story of Dailey Bros. Circus..He had a number of good Dailey stories.I believe the story goes that DeMille, named him BLINKO...
