CLOWN ALLEY: Polack Bros. Circus, 1942

It looks to me like Gene Randow down in front, the two little people are the Dewsberrys, the Georgetti Brothers have the bells on, The whiteface in the middle is Dennis Stevens, the tramp to the right of him is Dime Wilson and the whiteface at the far right it looks to be Ed Raymond.

  1. Dennis Stevens, originally from Utica, NY, told me that he had only worked on 3 circuses in his entire career. Polack, Ringling and Clyde Beatty-Cole Bros. He was an excellent contortionist.

I believe the Dewsberrys, Geoff and June came to the US via Mills Brothers Circus; but I am not 100 per cent on that.

  2. June Dewsberry worked on Disney on Parade and played the part of Donald Duck.
She retired to Ft. Lee, New Jersey.

  3. June played Daisy Duck although the Disney people wouldn't allow any cast members to share their character identity with the public.
