FRERE JACQUES: Royal Variety Show (1984)


Robert Dhery and company in a piece that was first seen in London performed by the Crazy Gang in the 1950s.

I believe that Dhery wrote this number for his film Ah Les Belles Bacchantes, a film with no plot really worth worrying about, but which follows the rehearsals for a French Music Hall show in a regional town. In the film, French comedian Louis de Funes played the lead role in this sketch and you can watch his version here along with several other sketches from the film.
