The picture is mid 1980's. Italo is wearing the pink coat. George Clyatt is wearing purple and Kathy Braa-Foransari is featured on the single trap to the left.
Not that I would ever endeavor to argue a point with the erstwhile Dr Carlyon, but methinks perhaps his rememberer is a bit askew-- that is indeed Scott parker, but his first of many years on Vargas was 1983, which was, alas, also my last . . . The Fornasari in the center is Italo, the dad. To his left is George (Capt. Buddy) Clyatt. The tall guy in the back is Victor Rodriguez (I think). The others I don't know, but then, by then I was long gone . . .
Bruce the Clown (former illustrious clown college roommate of the aforementioned, seemingly askew, Dr Carlyon . . .
I believe it was from the late 80's early 90's. Not long before Cliff Vargas passed away. And yes, the clown in the middle is the famous Italo Fornasari...an amazing clown. He was recently inducted into the Ring of Fame in Sarasota.
Okay, this was taken in the latter 80's. the clowns are in the middle Italo Fornasarri, to his left is Marty T Clown, to his right is George Clyatt (Capt Buddy), to the left of Capt Buddy is Scott Parker, to the left of Scott Parker is Victor Rodriguez. I am not sure about the other three... Alexis Kaiser Marketind Director Circus Vargas (off and on from 84-2003)
I am looking for Scott Parker, Kathy Braa-Fornasari, or others who worked with Circus Vargas from around 1982-1985. I enjoyed photographing them during those years, and I want to tell them that some of the photos will be at a San Francisco art gallery (www.rfprfp.com) this April, 2009. The gallery will be publishing a catalogue of the images, and I would like to send a copy to those who appear in it. The book also includes Fabiana Bizarro, Signora Macaggi, Dionne and others. The show is called "Clowns and Divas" Other shots are on my own website www.susanfelterart.com -- I also want to say Thank You to all circus performers and workers who bring us this wonderful dream realm !
If it helps date the photo, I saw Scott with Vargas in '79 or '80.
