Click here for a very nice article on International Clown Hall of Fame inductee Michael "Coco" Polakovs joining us here in Baraboo, WI for the Clown College reunion and on being awarded the Lou Jacobs Lifetime Achievement Award.
COCO, a wonderful memory from my childhood. His son, Graham taught stilt walking at CC 74; the prefered wood for stilts is poplar from what I remember.
Pat, I hope you will send post a video update of the big bash while you are there!
I believe it was back in the 1950's that COCO came over to MILLS Bros. Circus. I can still remember the water gags on Mills in Ohio cold weather and soon after opening the show would jump to Michigan. Would see COCO on Ringling but my close association with COCO was via Jim Hetzer out of Huntington, WV. and the marketing I use to do for Jim...Then I really got to know COCO and his wonderful wife Hazel. I was so glad to pull the newspaper story upon COCO....Someone say hello to COCO and the dear Hazel...Would like to see them both...Honor couldn't go to a more deserving person....
