The trailer for the upcoming premier of the documentary CLOWNFEST: FIVE DAYS IN THE ALLEY shot on location at Vince Pagliano's annual Clownfest in Seaside Heights, NJ.
I'm wondering if that was taken out of context or if I missed something entirely. Matthew and I did a Bambouk show down there the year this was shot. We spoke to the attendees afterward. I don't think anything we did was earth-shattering, but we had a warm reception. And I was friendly and familiar with many of the other instructors, most of whom, I believe, were, like me, non-evangelical.
I'm not judging...you can be as evangelical as you like. I just did not get that vibe at all...
another "definition" of the word "evangelical" is... "zealous in advocating something" the term is often associated with Christianity... but not always.
Yeah, I was 'assuming' the Christian connotation of evangelical, but I am aware of the other meanings....it did sound like it was taken out of context...and I know Vince well enough...I dunno, it just took me by surprise.
We've had a reviewer refer to our show as 'proselytizing' and 'a call to arms'...neither of which were expected either...

Any other info?
Lots of old friends, and I even spotted myself in the trailer.

I will ask Vince, but it sure sounds like a bad edit or a statement was taken completely out of context.
