My mom & Dad have a handpainted and practically to scale portrait of this picture hanging in their living room. My grandfather painted the picture from this postcard, circa 1974. Bumpsy Anthony was my grandmother's brother. Her maiden name was Helen Hulme.

I actually met Bumpsy as an 11 yr. old in 1972 in Florida. He actually scared the crap out of me. It was loud from the rides and clown commotion, and he shook my hand, and arm, like there was no tomorrow.

I had the pleasure of knowing Bumpsy as a young man of 25 in 1960 when I was ringmaster of the Paul Miller Circus. I was a greenhorn and Bumpsy taught me a lot. I left the circus later that year and have only seen the Hannefrords in 61 in calif and also I saw Kinko. I believe that he had a daughter who was head of a circus fan club

I am (one of) the Great Granddaughter(s) of "Bumpsy" Anthony. Thank you for sharing this.. it means a lot. I grew up going to Florida visiting him in the trailer and even though I was only 8 when he passed I have a lot of good memories of him.
