This photo is definitely from 1931. The clue is in the poster on the wall. The girl equestrian poster was printed by Central Printing and Illinois Litho - and Ringling-Barnum didn't start using that firm as a printer until 1929. The date sheet for the Garden says the stand ends on April 26. The run in 1931 was from Apr 3-26.

April 26 fell on Saturday in 1919 and 1926. The two shows merged in 1919.
Both Spader Johnson and Felix Adler are in this picture.
Felix would have just been back from WWI if this were 1919.
Something tells me Spader Johnson would have retired by 1926.
