CLOWN ALLEY: Mills Bros. Circus, undated

Photos courtesy of Bill Strong

It looks like Nicholai's son, Mike's brother Sacha Coco down front.

The long legs, most likely used as the blow-off to the Balloon Chase.

I am so humbled, for years I thought that the alley at Circus World in the daze of Brian, Barry, and Jamie had the best balloon ever. Handing this tall guy with the balloon stick for blow off would be the bomb. I wish I could have been there.

Today in Tracy's birthday, I hope her day has been as uplifting as your blog today.

Thank you

Little John

Holy Cleveland! That's my great-uncle Carleton Smith in the second photo down, center whiteface with the cornet. He was married to my great uncle Hank Peare's sister and would clown with various shows when they played the Cleveland area. I'm guessing that this would be somewhere in the 50's. Carleton is wearing Hank's wig and my great-grandfather's Ohio Home Guard uniform from the late 1800s. I used to wear it for Halloween or for Civil War presentations in school.
