This is an excerpt from a tv show in seven episodes for I was artistic consultant, produced by italian TV RAI3. We recorded it at the "great" Moscow circus building in June, October and November 1993, assembling about 50 acts from the best that remained of the glorious Soviet era. In each episode we had good clowns.
It is surprising to find a clip of this program here. We worked with an Italian crew and RusSian TV technicians, nobody speaking a word in the other's language. The same was for me, in charge of the running order and the circus staging: very exciting to do that in this legendary ring and for months...(but nothing if compared to the circus festival we did on the Red Square in 1997)
Vladimir Kremena was very popular in Russia in the 70s and 80s. I think he had a lot of talent and a good repertory. It was a pleasure to work with him. I rember him complaining with me that he was not allowed to participate in tours abroad, because some of his colleague had best political connections. I think he just toured in Argentina few times.
