CLOWN ALLEY: Ringling in Pomona, CA, 1958

Hi Pat,
These photos were taken on the 1958Ringling show when it still played ballparks. Notice the aerial rigging. This type was used starting in 1957.

i love these pix....and i know that feeling....when you've seen the acts a hundred times...there's still a certain moment in time that makes you say "would you look at that"

i love the perspective of the shots and the clowns in a quiet personal moment.

RBBB Sarasota Winter Quarters 1956-57..Art Concello built the orginial rigging in quarters and rigged it on the north side of the train barn. By this time Concello had taken the rails out of the train barn and layed the floor like a building the show would then play in.. and I believe would use this building to practice and rehearse the new edition prior to opening the 1957 Edition..You have to remember this was in December - 1956 and Ringling had closed earlier in July outside of Pittsburgh near the racetrack....
