International Clown Hall of Fame inductee Mark Anthony making up.
Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey lost quite a bit the day Mark Anthony packed up his trunk and walked out the back door. Had people like he and Mike Coco stayed I think things would have been very different in the 80s and 90s.

What a sweet, gentle man. One of the greats in clowning.

Mark always made up using a small, red, plastic-framed mirror. One day he dropped it and all the glass fell out and broke. For the next two weeks he made up staring into the empty mirror frame. He'd turn to one of his dogs and say, "Zip, this line doesn't feel just right," or, "Moe, is my nose on just right?" After two weeks of this Kevin Bickford couldn't stand it any more and bought Mark a new mirror.

Mark presented his break-a-way bicycle in ring three at the very end of come-in during one tour.
It was excellent, subtle, refined and not one wasted motion. I often thought that his bicycle could have been presented solo in the GSOE.
I had the privledge of working with Mark in 1976. I was commenting one day to one of the other "girl" clowns that I wish I had enough guts to ask Mark for a foam rubber animal. The next day a fist came slowly through the curtain as I made up and a voice said open your hand, I opened my hand and the fist opened to reveal a miniture "Zip". I treasure it to this day. I guess it made up for the First of May cake party when he handed me my piece of cake and promptly smooshed it in my face. "Now you've got ten minutes to get your make-up off and on...GO"
