I was his secretary for a couple of years when his caravan was parked at the Olympia station. He was fantastic, interesting and kind. His wife Valentina made good apple strudels and she was lovely as well. I have happy memories of them. I worked for him around 1968/69 and only left because I got married and moved away from London.
I was 9 when I saw COCO at the Gainsbough Theater in Bootle l20 Untill today I always thought he was a Russian & in the early 1950s assumed he was doing what "They" wanted so I always felt sad for him.dont ask me why but hes always been on my mind so now I know it's just my over active imagination & he's had a safe & happy life! (wish I still had the photograph of us all taken with him )
