RINGLING: 116th Edition Television Special (1986)

There is a long list of things that Kenneth Feld will never do again. I'm sure this is somewhere near the very top of that list...

Charly Baumann was the only one on pitch.

There are shots that look exactly like ones from "Thriller"

Wow! WTF was anyone who put that on the air thinking? Please tell me that was on the gag reel somewhere!

near the top of the list has got to be KF wearing Mongolian folk costume as he announces the arrival of the Mongolian State Circus to RinglingBBB.

personally I think it's cute in a rather disfunctional but still endearing way.

Am I the only one that noticed that the one guy on the show that was hired to be a singer (Ragona) is the only one that doesn't sing? (I mean, based on the assumption that this could be defined as "singing" even in the broadest sense of the word.)

The Felds actually got a lot of mileage out of this particular piece of music. It was used as the finale of the 115th Edition network television special in 1985, returned for this encore on the 1986 tv show, and turned up again in 1994 as the opening number of the 124th Edition (Romeo and Juliette). I thought it was one of the more engaging openings that the show had done with a replica of the famous "Two Hemispheres" bandwagon as it's centerpiece.
