MYSTERY CLOWN: Jimmy James?

An unidentified whiteface clown who looks to me like he could be Beatty-Cole's Jimmy James in an earlier makeup.

As best I recall, this clown was known as "Candy" Kane. Without digging out my trunks, I don't remember Kane's real name.

That is Jon Cane, Eggplant the Clown, who was on Circus Vargas and other shows in the 50's I think.

Jellyroll-----way before he got his teeth fixed.

Yes, he was the producing clown and arrow man for the DUKE of PADUCAH Circus. He left before the season was over.

I think he sold cars in the off season.

Whoever he is, he looks like he brushes his teeth with coffee grounds ; )

Jimmy's illegit son, Timmy, who was later featured in the LASSIE tv show. "Lassie, tell the miners that I'm stuck in the mine with only 12 minutes of air."

Is that Frank Cain? He wrote a book "I Never Went to Clown College". He ran a parade big head business in his later years?

I saw a fellow who might be this clown recently playing a genie-swamie character on a circus show in Canada. Could this be him? He didn't use a nickname, but I think he did some magic tricks for the kids too.

Mr. Cashin,

REally enjoy this site and I luv leaning more about clowns. I have a picture book called Circus Scrapbook by famous artist Ray dirgo who did all the famous Hanna-Barbera cartoons too. There is a picture of this clown in a Horserace routine and it says the clowns name is John Kennedy Kane. Do you think this is the same person? Im learning more about clowns and have started to collect pictures and drawings of famous circus clowns.
Bump a nose!

The John Kennedy Kane that you mention is more INFAMOUS than FAMOUS.
