DON SAUNDERS: Hollywood Palace



At about 3:10, after the South African tribal song by Miriam Makeba, the you'll see Don Saunders on Hollywood Palace hosted by Groucho Marx.

All my life waiting to see that!!!
When I was a child, Don Saunders was a kind of myth for having worked in some Italian circuses in the half-60s, but I never caught him.
And nice to see him after Miriam Makeeba, that I knew in person...
I've also been browsing for gems in those Hollywood Palace episodes in the last few months, finding forgotten circus acts.It's a real gold rush..Let's pursue the search...

I saw Don live just the once, with Bertram Mills in 1963, the only time I saw that show. The other main comedy spot was down to Les Francescos. Run-ins from Coco (i.e. Nicolai Poliakov), Jacko Fossett, Little Billy, and Little Nicky.
