Home movie footage shot during a taping of WGN's Bozo's Circus in 1977 with Frazier Thomas and the legendary lineup of Marshall "Wizzo" Brodien, Roy "Cookie" Brown and Bob "Bozo" Bell.
I remember before the taping of the show that I attended, Bozo was introduced and came running into the studio. The young child next to me was awe-struck. He was in shock. He just repeated the words "Bozo came out" throughout almost the entire taping.
I totally knew what he meant. Bozo had only been a thing that he'd seen on TV and here he was in the flesh and and bigger than life.
I felt the same way, but I was in my 20s.

I remember going to Bozo's Circus when I was in the 2nd grade. Sandy the tramp was my favorite clown. He was only on the show certain days, and the day I was going was a day he normally wasn't performing. He was on the show that day! As you left the studio the cast was lined up to meet everyone and my mom said to Sandy, "I'm the lady who wrote and asked you to be here today." Sandy, who never said a word on the show, said, "I know"! I couldn't believe I got to hear Sandy talk! Years later I actually got to perform on Bozo's circus...but that's another story.
