Toby Takes a Tubby

This looks to me to be Toby Ballantine (son of clown, author, artist and longtime Clown College director Bill Ballentine) performing a riff on Lou Jacobs' classic riff on Buck Baker's bathtub gag on an Ohio Shrine date in the late 70s/early 80s.

Lee,

I have a question regarding the 73 tour of Hoxie. Could you please email me at ydcircus@aol.com.

Also, I might be mistaken but didn't Toby's sister, Bridget marry Scazbo (sp?) the Hungarian juggler that worked his act on the track on RBBB?

That's Toby. Bridget married Geza Szabo the juggler.

At least it looks like Toby's tub worked!!! I spent several seasons pushing Lou's tub around the track when the motor wouldn't.

The only thing dumber than a clown taking a spin in his bathtub is a clown dressed like an Indian (web number) PUSHING a clown in his tub...

Toby's son, Billy Ballantine, lives here in Pigeon Forge...talented kid, about 26, reminds me of his grandfather..when Bill was inducted into the Hall of Fame, Billy was there to accept honors from the family...Toby didn't make it.
